including historic resource surveys, property evaluations, assessment of effects
documents, and Historic American Building Survey/Historic American Engineering

Washington, D.C., Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska

for Historic Preservation's Conference Preserving the Historic Road in

David Keene, Ph.D.

President of Archaeological
Research, Inc. (ARI), a firm that he established in 1991, with offices in
Chicago (IL), Woodstock (IL) and Madison (WI)

Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in 2001

Registered Professional Archaeologist

Previously a member of the faculty at Loyola University of Chicago,
where he presently serves on an advisory board for the university's program
in public history

Specializes in conducting archaeological investigations throughout the Midwest

Endeavors directed by
Dr. Keene include Phase I, II and III studies as they pertain to the
archaeological components of Section 106/Compliance projects for
engineering firms (transportation projects), telecommunications companies
(cell phone tower placement) and developers (subdivisions and other land
development projects)

Served on the board of the Landmarks Preservation
Council of Illinois (LPCI) from 1992 to 1999, and served as the
organization's president from 1996-1999 (LPCI is the state-wide organization
that promotes historic preservation education for the state of Illinois)
